Pakistan Targets Seven Countries For FDI: Minister

ISLAMABAD, May 28 (NNN-APP) – Pakistani Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, said yesterday that, the government established seven desks under the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), to attract foreign investment.

Talking to the media here, the minister said that, desks will be dedicated to each of the seven specific countries, including China, as well as, Arab and Western countries, to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) to Pakistan.

He added that, Chinese investment is being sought under the project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and the government has high hopes for its new phase.

Tarar said that, an Arab country also assured Pakistan of investment, which is vital to uplift the country’s economy.

Formed in Jul, last year, SIFC aims to attract foreign investments as a single-window platform, to facilitate businesses of potential investors.– NNN-APP
