KABUL, Afghanistan, May 28 (NNN-AGENCIES) – A total of 14 Haqqani militants were killed, in separate military operations, in two eastern Afghan provinces today (Tuesday), the command of special forces, said.
“The Afghan National Defence and Security Forces launched successful operations in Ghazni and Paktia provinces, early Tuesday. As a result, 14 Haqqani network militants were killed,” Afghan National Army Special Operations Corps said.
The Haqqani network, which was designated as a terrorist group by the United States in 2012, is a military wing of the Taliban militant group.
The statement added that, nine Haqqani militants, including a divisional commander of the group, were arrested by security forces.
Security forces also destroyed amount of weapons and ammunition, following the raids.
