WASHINGTON, May 26 (NNN-KBC) — Kenya and the United States have signed a commercial and investment partnership, affirming their mutual commitment to deepening commercial partnerships between Nairobi and Washington.
The deals signed during the Kenya-US Business Forum between U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo and Kenya’s Rebecca Miano, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade & Industry, are aimed at facilitating trade and investment between the two sides.
“This Partnership, with robust participation from the private sector, aims to promote a strong business-enabling environment and facilitate trade and investment opportunities in Kenya, focusing on key priority sectors including infrastructure, agriculture and the digital economy,” said Miano
United States Raimondo reiterated that her country was fully committed to working with Kenya by advancing business cooperation.
“I’m looking forward to putting the partnership into action and delivering tangible benefits for the people and businesses of both Kenya and the United States,” noted Raimondo
She said the US businesses were more enthusiastic than ever to be committed and invest more in Kenya and Africa at large.
“Africa is changing the narrative. The narrative now is that Africa is a land of opportunities,” she said. — NNN-KBC
