NEW DELHI, May 25 (NNN-PTI) – A severe cyclonic storm, codenamed “Remal,” is most likely to hit India’s eastern states of West Bengal and Odisha, during the intervening night of today, Saturday and tomorrow, Sunday, said the India Meteorological Department, yesterday.
It cautioned that, the cyclone might leave a spate of destruction to houses, power transmission lines, trees, standing crops and other structures, in the areas where it would make landfall. Besides, it would also trigger flooding in the affected areas.
A warning was also issued to local fishermen against venturing into the seas until after today.– NNN-PTI
