LIMA, May 28 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Monday met with his Colombian counterpart Ivan Duque at the Government Palace in Lima, within the framework of a State visit to the Inca country.
During the ceremony, the hosting nation’s Head of State highlighted the good level of bilateral relations and indicated that their administrations will continue to strengthen them.
Likewise, he praised the commitments assumed by both countries to combat deforestation, illicit coca crops, and mercury mining that threatens the Amazonian forests.
Furthermore, Peru’s top official announced the hosting of a new Binational Cabinet with Colombia on Aug 27 and indicated that the meeting will be held in the Amazon, in order to follow up on the agreements adopted today.
The statesman also decorated Duque with the Order of the Sun of Peru in the rank of Grand Collar.
As is known, President Vizcarra led the 19th Presidential Summit of the Andean Community last Sunday in the Peruvian capital city attended by
