Nearly 20, including school kids, injured after stabbing near Tokyo

KAWASAKI, Japan, May 28 (NNN-KYODO) -Nearly 20 people, including elementary school students, were injured after a stabbing incident Tuesday in Kawasaki next to Tokyo, the local fire department said.

The department was informed around 7:45 a.m. of the incident, which took place near Noborito Station in the city. It said at least one child and an adult show no vital signs.

A male suspect who appeared to be in his 40s or 50s has been detained, police said, adding two knives were found at the scene.

The man stabbed himself in the neck and is unconscious, according to the police.
