MANILA, May 16 (NNN-PNA) – Five people were killed and four others injured, in a three-vehicle collision in Quezon province, south-east of the Philippine capital, before dawn yesterday, police said.
Police said, the fatal accident happened around 2:30 a.m. local time when a speeding truck crashed into a three-wheeled motorcycle, carrying nine people, while travelling along a highway in Lopez town. The collision caused the motorcycle to burst into flames and hit a passenger bus.
The bus then caught fire, but all its passengers were unharmed.
Police said four of the motorcycle’s passengers were burned alive at the scene, while one died at a local hospital. The four injured were treated for burns.
The wayward truck fell on its side and rested on the roadside. Its driver was not injured.– NNN-PNA
