DHAKA, May 14 (NNN-BSS) – Bangladesh’s inflation decreased to 9.74 percent in Apr, from 9.81 percent in March, according to the latest data from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The Consumer Price Index released by the BBS showed that food inflation increased to 10.22 percent in Apr, from 9.87 percent in the previous month.
Inflation for non-food items decreased to 9.34 percent in Apr, from 9.64 percent in March, the data showed.
The central bank of Bangladesh has revised the projection for inflation upwards to 7.5 percent in the current 2023-24 fiscal year, from an initial six percent as consumer prices persistently stayed high.– NNN-BSS
