MALÉ, May 8 (NNN-PSM) – The Maldives have hosted more than 800,000 tourists so far this year, local media reported, quoting the latest statistics from the Maldives’ Ministry of Tourism, yesterday.
This is a 12-percent increase from last year, during the same period, according to local media.
Official figures show that, the biggest tourist source for the country is China, as 87,566 Chinese tourists visited the Maldives till May 5 this year.
The Maldives is currently working on reaching a target tourist arrival of two million by the end of this year, local media said.– NNN-PSM
