KABUL, May 4 (NNN-ANA) – More than 1.5 million Afghan refugees have returned from neighbouring Pakistan and Iran, to their homeland, Afghanistan, over the past year of 1402 in the Persian calendar (Mar 21, 2023 to Mar 19, 2024), local media reported, yesterday.
The media outlet, quoting Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the acting minister of refugee affairs, added that, around one million refugees have returned home from Iran and 600,000 others from Pakistan.
The Afghan caretaker government has been urging Afghan migrants living abroad, to return home and contribute to rebuilding their war-ravaged country.– NNN-ANA
