LA PAZ, April 26 (NNN-XINHUA) — At least three people were killed and more than a dozen injured after a multiple collision of vehicles on the highway in southwestern Bolivia on Thursday, according to a preliminary police report.
The collision occurred near the community of Jachayapu in Oruro on the Panamerican Highway linking the Bolivian departments of Potosi and Oruro. It involved a passenger bus, a dump truck loaded with minerals, and a freight truck loaded with agricultural products.
According to preliminary reports, the accident occurred when the dump truck collided with the left side of the passenger bus.
The dump truck was heading from Potosi to Oruro, while the passenger bus and freight truck were traveling in the opposite direction, according to preliminary reports.
Emergency teams rushed to the site to treat the wounded and move them to hospitals in Challapata and Oruro. — NNN-XINHUA
