DAMASCUS, Syria, May 26 (NNN-SANA) – The Syrian army foiled an attack by the al-Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, in the northern countryside of Hama province, in central Syria, on Saturday.
A military source said that, the attack by the Nusra Front focused on the towns of Jabriyeh and Tal Hawash, which are controlled by the army.
The rebels launched their attack from the towns of Sahriyeh and Jabal Shahshabo, which are controlled by the Nusra Front.
These areas of the countryside of Hama, Idlib and the Aleppo countryside, are included in a deescalation zones’ deal, established in Sept, 2018 by Russia and Turkey.
The deal didn’t materialise as battles have escalated since late last month.– NNN-SANA
