MANILA, Apr 19 (NNN-PNA) – Philippine police reported Friday that, two children died in a fire, after they were trapped inside their hut in Cavite province, south of Manila.
Police said, the fire gutted the siblings, a four-year-old girl and her three-year-old brother, around 3.00 p.m. local time yesterday.
The children’s 22-year-old mother told investigators that, she left the siblings in the house, while she went out to gather firewood. When she returned, the house was already engulfed by flames.
Police did not provide details on the whereabouts of the father or any other family members, when the fire broke out.
It took firefighters over an hour to put out the fire, police added.– NNN-PNA
