KUALA LUMPUR, April 19 (Bernama) — PETRONAS has been made aware of multiple occasions of unauthorised and fraudulent use of our company name and logo, as well as the name and image of our President and Group CEO, Tan Sri Tengku Muhammad Taufik.
Many of these incidents involve the misuse of artificial intelligence (AI) software to impersonate PETRONAS officials, typically by altering and manipulating their image and voice. Images of PETRONAS officials are also being misused to create fake social messaging accounts to mislead the public.
