SINGAPORE, Apr 10 (NNN-XINHUA) – Singapore authority caught over 2,200 individuals for possession or use of e-cigarettes, in the first quarter, according to a report issued by the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), yesterday.
The HSA added that, it seized e-cigarettes and components worth seven million Singapore dollars (5.2 million U.S. dollars) in the first three months of this year.
The report showed that 7,838 persons were caught for possession or use of e-cigarettes in Singapore last year, a 60 percent increase from 2022.
The HSA noted that e-cigarettes contain harmful chemicals, such as, fine particulate matter and cancer-causing agents. The possession, use, or purchase of e-cigarettes carries a maximum fine of 2,000 Singapore dollars.– NNN-XINHUA
