TOKYO, Apr 5 (NNN-NHK) – Cherry blossoms in central Tokyo, though running late, have reached full bloom, Japan’s weather agency said, yesterday.
The Japan Meteorological Agency confirmed that the Someiyoshino sample cherry tree, it has been observing, was in full bloom during the day.
This came four days later than the average year and 13 days later than last year’s bloom, mostly due to the cold weather this spring.
It also marks the first time since 2017 that the tree fully blooms in April.
The tree’s blossoming began last Friday, the latest in the past decade.– NNN-NHK
