MEXICO CITY, April 4 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — The value of exports per Mexican state reached 136.631 billion dollars in the fourth quarter of 2023, the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) reported.
According to the specialized entity, the states with the highest contribution to this total were Chihuahua (13.2 percent), Coahuila de Zaragoza (12), Nuevo León and Baja California (10.4 each), Guanajuato (7.2) and Tamaulipas (6.3), which together accounted for 59.5 percent.
In its annual comparison, the institution added, the five top states with the highest increases in their sales to the rest of the world were San Luis Potosí, with 31.5 percent; Quintana Roo, with 21.2; Guerrero, with 20; Aguascalientes, with 19.4, and Guanajuato, with 19.
According to the source, in the October-December 2023 period, the Transportation equipment manufacturing subsector stood out for its participation in the value of exports (41.2 percent), and among the regions with the highest contribution to this activity, Coahuila (20), Guanajuato (13.2), Nuevo León (8.8) and Chihuahua (8.6) stand out.
When presenting the results of the Quarterly Exports by State, the INEGI said in a press release that provides information on the evolution of the value, measured in thousands of dollars, of those territories’ exports of goods.
It added that the total accounts for a difference with respect to that reported in the nation’s Merchandise Trade Balance, since it does not consider the services and commerce sectors, nor establishments that are not linked to the Statistical Business Register of Mexico. — NNN-PRENSA LATINA
