LIMA, AprIL 2 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte has administered the oath of office to six State Ministers, in a ceremony held at the Government Palace.
The Head of State swore in Walter Ortiz Acosta as Interior Minister replacing Victor Torres in the post; Morgan Niccolo Quero Gaime as the new Minister of Education replacing Miriam Ponce Vertiz; Angel Manero Campos as the new Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation replacing Jennifer Contreras Alvarez in this position.
Sergio Gonzalez Guerrero was sworn in as new Minister of Production replacing Ana Maria Choquehuanca; Elizabeth Galdo Marin was sworn in as new Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism succeeding Juan Carlos Mathews; and Angela Teresa Hernandez Cajo was sworn in as the new Minister of Women and Vulnerable Populations replacing Nancy Tolentino Gamarra.
EARLIER, Ministers of Interior, Women-Vulnerable Populations, and Education have tendered their resignation from office.
Victor Torres on Monday confirmed at the end of a Cabinet’s session that he tendered his resignation from the position of Interior Minister, citing family reasons.
Moreover, he noted that his resignation does not respond to pressure from Congress due to the forthcoming Cabinet’s presentation before Parliament to seek the vote of confidence.
For her part, Nancy Tolentino announced, via social media, that she has stepped down from the Women and Vulnerable Populations sector, thanking Pres Boluarte for the confidence entrusted in her.
Tolentino reaffirmed her commitment to promoting and respecting the rights of women and vulnerable populations, noting that she will continue working in favor of this.
On the other hand, Miriam Ponce disclosed that she tendered her resignation from the Education Ministry, through a statement shared on social media, in which she thanked the Head of State for the confidence she showed in her. — NNN-ANDINA
