Over 36 Tonnes Of Controlled Chemicals Seized In Northern Myanmar

YANGON, Apr 2 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar police seized 36.82 tonnes of controlled chemicals in Kachin state of northern Myanmar, the state-run media, Myanmar Radio and Television, reported late yesterday.

Acting on a tip-off, the country’s anti-narcotics police searched three motorcycles and six-wheeler trucks, in Mohnyin township on Friday and confiscated the chemicals, the report said, citing police sources.

Nine suspects involved in the case have been charged under the related law, and further investigation is underway, it said.– NNN-MNA
