“In an unfortunate incident today (yesterday), a 42-year-old woman and her three minor children – two daughters and a son – were killed, after a cooking gas cylinder exploded inside their house, at around 4:00 a.m. (local time) in Dumri village,” a police official said. “We are being told the woman was preparing tea on the gas stove for her husband, when the cylinder exploded.”

Following the incident, authorities rushed fire department officials and police teams to the spot.

The bodies have been recovered from the house and sent for post-mortem. Police have registered a case and ordered an investigation into the incident.– NNN-PTI

Chances of fire in Indian houses are often high as owners usually ignore safety standards vis-a-vis fire and store fuel and combustible materials in a haphazard manner.
