NEW DELHI, Mac 23 (NNN-PTI) – At least 14 people were killed and many others hospitalised, allegedly after consuming spurious liquor, in the northern Indian state of Punjab, local media reports said, yesterday.
The deaths took place in Sangrur district of the state.
“The death toll due to the consumption of spurious liquor in Sangrur district has risen to 14, with four more people succumbing, in Sunam town,” local newspaper, Hindustan Times, reported.
Authorities said, the exact cause of deaths would be ascertained, after the post-mortem of the bodies.– NNN-PTI
