BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Mac 17 (NNN-ANN) – Brunei enforcement agencies, seized 550 cans of smuggled alcohol, in a recent joint operation, according to the Royal Brunei Police Force.
According to the local daily, Borneo Bulletin on Sunday, the suspicious-looking boat, carrying three individuals sped away, after noticing the presence of the enforcement personnel, with several packages thrown into the water during the chase. The boat escaped to a neighbouring country.
Enforcement personnel recovered the discarded packages and found 550 cans of alcohol. The joint operation involved Marine Police, Royal Brunei Armed Forces, Royal Customs and Excise Department (RCED) and Narcotics Control Bureau, focusing on the waters of Brunei Bay.
