DHAKA, Mac 12 (NNN-BSS) – Muslims in Bangladesh start Ramadan from today, as officials saw the crescent moon yesterday, marking the start of the holy fasting month in the country.
Bangladesh’s National Moon Sighting Committee, took the decision at a meeting last night, after the new moon was sighted in the country’s sky yesterday evening.
Muslims follow a lunar calendar and a moonlighting methodology that can lead to different countries declaring the start of Ramadan a day or two apart.– NNN-BSS
