DHAKA, Mac 9 (NNN-BSS) – At least 10 people were killed and about a dozen others injured, in two separate road mishaps in Bangladesh, yesterday.
Md Ashikuzzaman, a senior police officer, told journalists that, seven people were killed in a three-vehicle collision, involving a bus, a motorcycle and an autorickshaw, in Pirojpur district, some 185 km south-west of the capital, Dhaka.
According to the local police officer, three people died on the spot, while four others succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
The fatal road mishap, which occurred yesterday morning, left several others injured, he added.
In a separate road mishap in Bangladesh’s central Faridpur district, some 101 km away from the capital, Dhaka, at least three people were killed and 10 others injured, Abu Saeed, a local highway police officer, told journalists.
He said, the accident happened as a bus veered off the road and turned turtle. All the injured were rushed to local hospitals and clinics, he added.– NNN-BSS
