Man Charged In Melbourne After Shooting Incident

SYDNEY, Mac 1 (NNN-AAP) – Australian police confirmed today that, a man was charged overnight, after a non-fatal shooting injured another male in Melbourne, earlier this week.

According to police, officers found a 25-year-old man sustaining a gunshot wound in his upper body, early Monday morning, in a suburb of Melbourne’s south-east. The victim was later transported to a hospital to receive treatment for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

An altercation was believed to have occurred between two groups of men who were known to each other.

Following the incident, police executed several search warrants. Two imitation handguns, a set of nunchucks, ammunition, and substances appearing to be methylamphetamine and cannabis were seized.

Yesterday afternoon, the 31-year-old shooter was arrested in Hallam, approximately 35 km south-east of Melbourne’s central business district.

The shooter has been charged with intentionally causing serious injury, endangering life with reckless conduct, using unregistered firearm, using firearm in a public place, possessing ammunition, committing indictable offence whilst on bail, Victoria Police said.– NNN-AAP
