ANKARA, Turkey, May 22 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Turkish police, on Tuesday, arrested 16 suspects linked to the extremist Daesh group in nationwide operations, local media reported.
At least six Syrian and four Iraqi nationals were detained in the raids, launched by security forces in the central province of Kayseri, Demiroren News Agency reported.
Separately, in the northwestern province of Kocaeli, the police conducted operations in the Izmit, Basiskele and Gebze districts, in which four Daesh suspects were detained.
In the southeastern Sanliurfa province, Turkish security forces arrested two female suspects in an operation. The two suspects, who were attempting to cross into Turkey, were captured in the Akcakale district, on the Turkey-Syria border.
Turkey has been conducting a long-running campaign to fight the Daesh, which targets civilians with suicide bombings, as well as, rocket and gun attacks.– NNN-ANADOLU
