BAYAN LEPAS, Feb 28 (Bernama) — B. Braun Medical Industries Sdn. Bhd. (BMI), a leading medical technology company, proudly underscores its commitment to social responsibility through the successful execution of its Orang Asli Outreach Programme. Carried out in collaboration with HOPE Worldwide Malaysia, a local non-profit organisation, the programme is designed to help uplift the Orang Asli Community in Desa Ria, Gerik, Perak. This programme is a significant component of BMI’s overarching Charity Run initiative, reflecting the company’s steadfast dedication to corporate social responsibility.
40 volunteers, comprising 28 BMI employees and 12 HOPE Worldwide representatives, volunteer nurses and pharmacists, travelled over 350km from Penang to the remote village of Desa Ria, located deep in the interiors of Gerik, Perak. The primary objective was to deliver much-needed relief and supplies, including essential healthcare support and food aid. A mobile clinic, offering basic medical check-ups and dispensing necessary medications was also established to cater to the healthcare needs of the community.
