JAKARTA, May 21 (NNN-ANADOLU) – Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo has been re-elected as Indonesia’s president after last month’s vote, beating former general Prabowo Subianto. according to results announced Tuesday by the General Election Commission (KPU).

It is the second time “Jokowi,” a nickname, defeated his rival, former special force commander Prabowo Subianto Sandiaga Uno.

Based on KPU results (KPU), Jokowi-Amin received 85.6 million votes and Subianto-Sandiaga Uno obtained 68.6 million.

Jokowi-Amin won in 21 provinces including Bali and Subianto-Sandiaga managed to win in just 13 provinces.

KPU commissioner Hasyim Asy’ari said the official results depends on id there is a challenge to the findings.

KPU will wait until May 24 for a submission of a dispute through the Constitutional Court (MK).

“The KPU will ask for confirmation from the Constitutional Court whether there are parties who have filed a lawsuit. If it’s not there, we will set it up immediately,” Hasyim said.

If there is a dispute submission, the KPU will wait for the Constitutional Court’s decision before determining election results.

The KPU completed the recapitulation of the election votes from 34 provinces and 130 overseas polling stations faster than a May 22 deadline.
