TEHRAN, Feb 17 (NNN-IRNA) – Iran’s police have arrested two individuals, for involvement in a deadly “terrorist” attack last Dec, on a police headquarters in the south-eastern Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchestan.
The two, identified as members of the Jaish al-Zulm “terror” group, that claimed responsibility for the attack in Rask County, were arrested, following the police forces’ technical and intelligence monitoring, Iran’s police spokesman, Saeed Montazer-al-Mahdi, was quoted as saying, without specifying the date of the detentions.
Eleven policemen were killed and seven others injured on Dec 15, last year, in the attack on the police headquarters in Rask.
Montazer-al-Mahdi said, four other members of the “terrorist” group had been detained over the past weeks, for involvement in the same attack.
The Jaish al-Zulm group is a separatist cell that Iran says is linked with al-Qaeda and has carried out several “acts of terror” against Iranian security forces and civilians, over the past years.– NNN-IRNA
