20 Died In Traffic Accidents In Nepal

KATHMANDU, Feb 15 (NNN-XINHUA) – Twenty people were killed and dozens of others injured, in two traffic accidents in Nepal, in the past two days.

A passenger bus carrying 40 passengers to Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital, plunged into a rivulet in Kapilvastu district, early today, leaving 10 dead and all the others wounded.

“Six of the injured have been discharged, while 24 others are receiving treatment at different hospitals,” Hari Bahadur Oli, a local police officer, said. “Over speeding could have led to the accident.”

Yesterday, an overloaded jeep skidded off a highway in Palpa district, killing eight on the spot and injuring 16 others. Two of the wounded died later during treatment.
