Venezuelan and Cuba expand academic exchange

HAVANA, Feb 11 (NNN-ACN) — Cuba and Venezuela take steps to further expand academic exchange as representatives of both nations signed a MOU for Education and Scientific Collaboration between the two Higher Education ministries.

The accord, signed during the 14th Universidad 2024 International Higher Education Congress, aims at revitalizing bilateral relations in the areas of research and education by linking different academic institutions, said Sandra Oblitas Ruzza, Venezuelan Education Minister.

The document also provides mutual recognition of university diplomas and helps the training of teachers based on science and innovation in tune with the interests of the two countries, Oblitas explained.

Cooperation initiatives like the recently signed MOU aim at the improvement of the university-society relationship, based on sustainable development strategies, social transformation and digital government, she noted.

The Venezuelan official described the congress as a meeting platform for higher education institutions to consider the challenges facing education in the current world scenario.
