Qatar Ships Additional LNG To UAE As Pipeline Breaks Down

DOHA, Qatar, May 20 (NNN-QNA) – Qatar filled the gap in gas supplies to the United Arab Emirates, by shipping additional liquefied natural gas, after a major pipeline “Dolphin” experienced an outage for several days last month, according to a statement by the Qatari foreign ministry, on Sunday.

“Dolphin” supplies two billion cubic feet of natural gas per day from Qatar’s North Field to customers in the UAE.

The shutdown caused significant curtailment of gas supplies to the UAE, and state energy giant, Qatar Petroleum, helped “Dolphin” by shipping repair materials. It also backed up supplies by shipping LNG to the UAE.

Qatar has been under a political and economic boycott by its neighbours, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, who accuse Doha of supporting extremism. Doha denies the claim.– NNN-QNA
