Mongolia’s Inflation Eased To 7.6 Percent In Jan

ULAN BATOR, Feb 9 (NNN-APA) – Mongolia’s inflation, as measured by the consumer price index, eased to 7.6 percent in Jan, data from the country’s National Statistics Office showed, yesterday.

The office said, the rate was down by 0.3 percentage points, from a month earlier, and 4.7 percentage points from a year earlier.

The decline was mainly due to a significant increase in forex reserves, and the stable exchange rate of the national currency, the Tugrik, it said.

The country aims to stabilise inflation around the target rate of six percent, in the medium term.– NNN-APA
