Mongolia, Germany Elevate Bilateral Ties, Seek Further Cooperation

ULAN BATOR, Feb 8 (NNN-APA) – Mongolian President, Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, and visiting German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, announced yesterday, the elevation of bilateral relations, to a strategic partnership.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany, and the latter became the first European country to establish a strategic partnership with Mongolia.

According to the Mongolian presidential office, officials from both countries signed several cooperation agreements, in the presence of the two presidents. These agreements cover areas such as, transporting international passengers and cargo by road, archaeological cooperation, and projects to enhance legal environment and capacity of court authorities.

Steinmeier arrived here yesterday for a two-day state visit, at the invitation of Khurelsukh, marking the fourth visit by German presidents, since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and Germany in 1974.– NNN-APA
