LIMA, Feb 1 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte on Wednesday afternoon reaffirmed Peru’s unwavering commitment to cooperation, integration, and multilateralism.
Addressing the protocol greeting ceremony by the Diplomatic Corps at the Government Palace in the Peruvian capital, Lima, she stressed that international cooperation stands as the fundamental pillar to achieve effective and sustainable solutions.
“Peru reaffirms its unwavering commitment to cooperation, integration, and multilateralism; in this interdependent arena, it is imperative that we cultivate solid relationships, as well as forge strategic alliances to build a safer, fairer, and more prosperous future for all,” she noted during her speech.
Boluarte expressed hope that in this new year the joint work with the diplomatic corps will be renewed and strengthened to contribute to the nations’ common well-being, as well as to the construction of a more harmonious and better world for all.
The top official indicated that going through difficult times, caused by the financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, has made us stronger.
Similarly, it has taught us about the importance of international collaboration, solidarity, and joint work, she said.
The president mentioned that globalization not only brings challenges, but also countless opportunities for growth, innovation, and mutual understanding.
Within this framework, she indicated that Peru’s reinforced foreign policy seeks to strengthen international relations with an inclusive and dynamic approach.
“This guideline of our foreign policy seeks to foster a proactive agenda from various fronts, such as regional cooperation to global dialogue in order to face contemporary challenges and make the most of the opportunities offered by today’s world,“ she emphasized.
Boluarte also stated that this policy is a proof of our determination to play an active role in the international arena advocating for peace, sustainable development, and mutual respect among nations.
The Apostolic Nuncio based in Peru, Monsignor Paolo Rocco Gualtieri, spoke on behalf of the diplomatic corps and accredited international organizations to greet the Peruvian president on the occasion of the new year. — NNN-ANDINA
