KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 26 (NNN-BERNAMA) – A landslide at a popular tourist destination, in Malaysia’s Pahang state, resulted in one death, with four more victims believed to be buried early this morning.
The authorities received a distress call at 2:51 a.m. local time (1851 GMT) for the disaster, which struck in Cameron Highlands district, Pahang Fire and Rescue Department Assistant Director, Ismail Abdul Ghani said, in a statement.
“Based on preliminary information, there are three adult men and one adult woman still buried in the landslide,” he said, adding that search and rescue efforts are ongoing.– NNN-BERNAMA
