Peru Wow: International tourism promotion campaign launched in Spain

MADRID (Spain), Jan 25 (NNN-ANDINA) — Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Juan Carlos Mathews and Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) Executive-President Angelica Matsuda on Wednesday presented Peru’s new international tourism promotion campaign titled “Peru Wow,” whose goal is to strengthen its image as a unique and diverse destination.

Peru Wow appeals to the expression of amazement, surprise, and emotion that Peru generates among its visitors, which leaves us speechless and makes us want to discover more of its sites, experiences, culture, and gastronomy,Minister Mathews pointed out.

The “Peru Wow” campaign aims to reach 61.6 million people and generate 545 million impacts in the United States, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Argentina, Spain, France, and Germany through a comprehensive strategy. Thus, it seeks to strengthen our country’s image as a diverse, unique, and always amazing tourist destination.

“The growth projections for this year place Peru as one of the leaders in Latin America and as one of the tourism sector’s growth engines,” he added.

To this end, the campaign’s main video presented at the International Tourism Fair (Fitur) 2024 in Madrid, Spain, tells a fictional story of two astronauts who, from space, observe the impressive landscapes and historic monuments that Peru hosts. This way, amazed, they decide to travel to our country to live the unique experiences that Peru offers visitors.

The campaign highlights Peru’s attractions such as Machu Picchu, the Uros Floating Islands, Kuelap, Choquequirao, the Amazonia, the city of Arequipa, the Historic Center of Lima, the Gocta Waterfall, among many others, as well as experiences such as community tourism, gastronomy, adventure, among others. — NNN-ANDINA
