LA PAZ, Jan 14 (NNN-XINHUA) — A head-on collision on Saturday left seven dead and three injured in western Bolivia, according to local media.
The collision, involving two public transit vehicles — a van and a bus, occurred near the town of Challapata in the western department of Oruro.
Six of the fatalities were in the van, which veered into the opposite lane and collided head-on with the bus heading from Tarija to La Paz. The seventh was a passenger on the bus.
Images shared on social media and local television show the van was completely destroyed by the impact while the front of the bus was seriously damaged.
An investigation is underway to determine the causes of the accident. — NNN-XINHUA
