LIMA, Jan 7 (NNN-ANDINA) — Peru’s Pres Dina Boluarte called for dialogue among all sectors of society, with the aim of sitting at a work table to reach consensus for the homeland and generate agreements to help the most vulnerable citizens.
Remarks were made during an event held at the Government Palace Honor Hall, where the president met with boys, girls, and leaders of soup kitchens, community pots, and Glass of Milk committees.
“Here, starting this year, I once again call on all sectors, both in the (Peruvian) State and the private sector, academics, churches, civil society, everyone: let’s unite at a work table and let’s get there to discuss our different ideas, as well as to reach consensus for the homeland,” she expressed.
The Head of State pointed out that children, adolescents, women, and older adults “need us united to work for Peru, embraced so as to take care of one another.”
“And we, from the Government, need that support, that unity, to be able to generate work spaces, to generate more investment and generate more support for the most vulnerable brothers (and sisters),” Boluarte stated.
Furthermore, the top official said that in 2023 gas prices were rising, prompting other prices to also increase, as a result of what happened at the end of 2022.
“Now we can say calmly that gasoline (prices) go down and will continue to go down because if gasoline (prices) go down, all other (prices of) products will also go down (…),“ she indicated.
Therefore, the president explained that it is important to maintain social stability, calm, and to respect democracy.
“In democracy, we can have different ideas because we do not think the same, but we can deal with those differences in a sincere dialogue that is worthwhile in the pursuit of the country’s development,” Boluarte added. — NNN-ANDINA
