DHAKA, Jan 5 (NNN-BSS) – A total of 512 people were killed and 793 injured in 517 road accidents in Bangladesh last month, said a report published yesterday.
According to the Road Safety Foundation, a local non-governmental organisation, the deceased included 59 women and 64 children.
The foundation said, it collected the data based on reports in nine national dailies, seven online news portals and electronic media in Bangladesh.
It said in a press release yesterday that, 201 people died in 213 motorcycle accidents, which accounted for 39.25 percent of the total deaths.– NNN-BSS
