JAKARTA, Jan 3 (NNN-ANTARA) – Indonesia received over 10.4 million foreign tourists in the first 11 months of 2023, marking a 110.8 percent increase, compared to the same period in 2022, the Statistics Indonesia (BPS) announced, yesterday.

Nov alone saw 917,410 foreign tourist arrivals, reflecting a 30.17 percent year-on-year growth, BPS Acting Head, Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti told a press conference. However, the number represented a 6.24 percent decline compared to Oct, 2023.

“Foreign tourists’ arrivals in Nov were dominated by tourists from Malaysia (15.45 percent), Singapore (12.86 percent), and Australia (12.76 percent),” Widyasanti said.

While the number of foreign tourist arrivals until Nov, 2023, surpassed that of 2022, it remained lower than the 14.7 million arrivals recorded in the same period of 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.– NNN-ANTARA
