Pakistan’s Food Exports Increase By 37 Percent In First Five Months Of FY 24

ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (NNN-APP) – Pakistan’s food exports in the first five months of the current 2023-24 fiscal year, starting from Jul, 2023, to Jun, 2024, increased by 37.12 percent, as compared to the corresponding period of last year, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

The exports of various food commodities were recorded at 2,640.905 million U.S. dollars, during Jul-Nov, of the ongoing fiscal year, against the exports of 1,925.969 million dollars in Jul-Nov of the previous fiscal year, the PBS said, yesterday.

The food commodities that contributed to positive growth in trade included rice, fruits, oil seeds, nuts, kernels, meat and meat preparations and sugar, the PBS data showed.

Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the food exports during Nov this year, increased by 60.65 percent to 696.183 million dollars, compared to exports of 433.365 million dollars in Nov, 2022.

On a month-on-month basis, food exports increased by 4.85 percent in Nov, when compared to the exports of 663.984 million dollars in Oct, according to the PBS.– NNN-APP
