Tunisian President, Indonesian FM Met On Ties, Cooperation

TUNIS, Dec 22 (NNN-TAP) – Tunisian President, Kais Saied, met yesterday, with visiting Indonesian Foreign Minister, Retno Marsudi, on bilateral ties and cooperation.

During the meeting, Saied stressed Tunisia’s desire to further strengthen and diversify relations with Indonesia in economic, cultural, and scientific sectors, according to a statement by the Tunisian presidency.

The president also highlighted the importance of updating the legal framework regulating bilateral relations and developing the ties in a way that could inject stronger impetus into bilateral cooperation, read the statement.

For her part, Marsudi expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral cooperation, consultation and coordination, stressing Indonesia’s keenness to further develop these strong ties, especially in the areas of common interest, including trade exchange, phosphate export, women’s empowerment and defence.

She also extended an invitation to Saied to visit Jakarta, on behalf of Indonesian President, Joko Widodo.– NNN-TAP
