ISLAMABAD, Dec 22 (NNN-APP) – Five people were killed and several others injured, in a road accident in Pakistan’s south-western Balochistan province, police said yesterday.
The accident occurred in Duki district of the province, where a speeding van, carrying wedding guests overturned into a ditch, resulting in the loss of five lives, including women and children, according to the police in the area.
Three people were killed on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries on the way to hospital, the police said, adding that, at least two among the injured are in critical condition.
Following the accident, police and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital.
According to an initial investigation, launched by the police, the accident was caused by a brake failure, due to over-speeding.– NNN-APP
