AREQUIPA (Peru), Dec 18 (NNN-ANDINA) — Adventure Next Peru 2023 successfully concluded three days of intense work, where 40 local suppliers had the opportunity to establish important partnerships with 34 buyers from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom specializing in the adventure and nature tourism segment, the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Export and Tourism (PromPeru) reported.
In the event, held from December 5 to 7 in the city of Arequipa, more than 1,000 meetings were held, projecting a business potential of US$1.2 million.
It is important to mention that the White City is an adventure destination that captivates travelers with its mountainous landscape and a rich combination of culture and history.
The inauguration of Adventure Next Peru was attended by PromPeru’s Executive President Angelica Matsuda, executives from the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) and the Peruvian Association of Adventure Tourism, Ecotourism, and Specialized Tourism (APTAE), as well as regional officials.
The activity included business rounds, roundtable discussions, and workshops. These were excellent opportunities to establish direct connections with industry professionals, showcase the richness of Peru’s tourist offerings, and foster alliances.
In addition, international buyers could enjoy the country’s gastronomy with typical Peruvian dishes and drinks, and learn about its culture through dances and textile exhibitions.
Given the importance of the event, five international media outlets from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom covered the various activities carried out.
It is worth noting that PromPeru works to prioritize adventure and nature segments, as they play a significant role in the promotion strategy of Peru.
Trekking, mountaineering, mountain biking, and kayaking, among others, offer exciting experiences for visitors and contribute to the economic and sustainable development of the regions.
