LIMA, Dec 16 (NNN-ANDINA) — Pres Dina Boluarte affirmed that the Government seeks to provide a proper education so that young people who graduate from educational institutions can have better job opportunities.
“The purpose of this Government is to teach well, and the other topic is (related to) scholarships; with great firmness, we have almost doubled the Beca 18 scholarships granted; we found them (the number of scholarships granted) at 5,000, but they currently stand at 10,000, and in 2026, when our term in office ends, we want to leave 50,000 scholarships so that students nationwide can have more opportunities to pursue a university or technical career,” she said.
Participating in the launch of Mi Carrera (My Career) digital platform, Boluarte indicated that what matters is to shape young people who have jobs that pay them well, have a profession, and generate decent families, because the country needs them.
“We are seeing how chaotic our system is at ministries or entities; we face a high corruption rate and that is because we had not been taught values at school, but we have to share that from schools and universities, because if we have values, these can’t be broken,” she said.
Likewise, the president reminded citizens that when young people finish high school, they have to attend pre-university academies, because “they do not learn the subjects well (at school).”
“That is why we have decided that, at each rural primary school, in the countryside, where there used to be only one tutor who was dedicated to teaching first graders, we are now adding more teachers,” she added.
Subsequently, the president delivered remarks to reporters from the Government Palace Courtyard. There, Boluarte underscored the use of Mi Carrera (My Career) digital platform intended for students to focus on careers that can provide them with proper remuneration.
Furthermore, the top official indicated that generating more instability is not good for the country, faced with the possibility of Congress dismissing National Justice Board (JNJ) members.
“We need that balance, that institutions can function during the period for which they have been elected, and if there is a fault or an error, that must be addressed within the path of due process; we cannot generate instability anymore; we have a very weak democracy, and if we add to that issue these types of situations, that does not help us (either),” she added. — NNN-ANDINA
