KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 12 (Bernama) — The Green Building Index (GBI), Malaysia’s premier and international green building benchmark, proudly marks a momentous achievement with the certification of 300 million square feet of green buildings across Malaysia. This remarkable milestone encompasses 671 GBI-certified projects out of 1,176 registered projects, achieved through GBI’s 18 rating tools tailored to Malaysia’s tropical climate.
This announcement was made at the “Celebration of 300 Million Square Feet of GBI-Certified Green Buildings” at PAM Centre today, which was officiated by YB Tuan Nga Kor Ming, Minister of Local Government Development. Also present were Ar. Abu Zarim Abu Bakar, GBI Board Chairman, Ar. Dr. Serina Hijjas, GBI Accreditation Panel (GBIAP) Chair cum President of Malaysia Green Building Council (MGBC), other members of GBI Board and GBIAP, and industry practitioners.
