YANGON, Dec 12 (NNN-MNA) – Myanmar’s 16th Pyin Oo Lwin flower festival, will be held at the National Kandawgyi Gardens, in the namesake township of the central Mandalay Region, from this Dec 16 to Jan 14, next year, an official from the National Kandawgyi Gardens said, yesterday.
This year’s event will showcase advanced landscape designs and colourful flower beds, to attract more tourists, he told the press.
The festival aims to boost the floral industry, as well as, the tourism sector in the country.
The opening ceremony will be held on Dec 17. Entertainment programmes, sales events, and local product fairs will be on the agenda.
Over 200,000 domestic and foreign seasonal flowers, with about 40 species, will be displayed during the festival.– NNN-MNA
