Ukraine Upgrades Grain Harvest Forecast Due To Record Yield

KIEV, Dec 10 (NNN-UNIAN) – The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry, raised its projection for this year’s grain harvest by 3.8 percent to 59.7 million tonnes, citing a record yield.

Ukraine has achieved an all-time high grain yield of 54.7 centners per hectare this year, the ministry said on its website.

Ukraine expects to harvest 30.1 million tonnes of corn, 22.2 million tonnes of wheat, and 5.8 million tonnes of barley this year.

The ministry left the estimation for this year’s oilseeds harvest unchanged, at 21.6 million tonnes.

Earlier this week, the Ukrainian Grain Association projected that, the country’s grain and oil crops exports from this year’s harvest have the potential to reach 50 million tonnes.– NNN-UNIAN
