Ethiopia and the United Kingdom agree to prevent cross-border crimes

LONDON, Dec 4 (NNN-PRENSA LATINA) — Cooperation to prevent cross-border crimes was the focus of an agreement signed between the Ethiopian Federal Police and the United Kingdom’s National Crime Agency.

The agreement was the result of the visit of an Ethiopian delegation, led by Commissioner General, Demelash Gebremichael, to London during which they held talks with officials from that agency on bilateral issues, Ethiopia’s state television Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.

Gebremichael commented on the main results in Addis Ababa in crime prevention after developing technological capabilities in this sphere.

For his part, the director of the British National Criminal Agency, David Hucker, expressed interest in providing Ethiopia with training and technologies for capacity development.

He also promised to facilitate scholarships for Ethiopian police officers at the UK Police College.
